As nonpartisan employees of the Legislature, members of the Office of Legislative Services are prohibited from engaging in political activity or taking a public position with regard to any matter before the Legislature.

Pursuant to the New Jersey First Act (N.J.S.A. 52:14-7), all persons newly hired by the Office of Legislative Services shall have one year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

The Office of Legislative Services is the Legislature's non-partisan agency providing legal, fiscal, research, bill-drafting, and administrative services; committee staffing; computer database management; and public information programs and publications.
